Sleep did not come easy but he kept occupied by listening to the sound of Stiles’ breathing, noticing that he had not fallen asleep either. After what felt like hours, Stiles rolled over to face Derek. He was clearly frustrated about not being able to go to sleep and he grumbled, pouting at Derek, “’m cold.”
“What do you want, Stiles? Another blanket?” Derek asked, knowing what Stiles was implicitly asking for but needing to hear the words. But Stiles just shook his head, sticking his bottom lip out more. Derek wanted to bite it. “A sweater?” Stiles shook his head again. “Hmm, fuzzy socks?” Stiles whined and Derek chuckled, “Need to use your words, Stiles. Gotta tell me what you want.”
“Hug?” Stiles asked, timidly holding his arms out.
Derek wasted no time in pulling Stiles closer, one arm under his neck and the other grabbing his waist in a possessive hold. “This okay?” Derek inhaled as he looked at his huge hand covering half of Stiles’ waist, wanting to see if his fingers would touch if he bracketed his waist with both hands.
Stiles nodded and tucked his arms against Derek’s chest.
