The angst I wanted - be prepared for it verging on horror levels. I liked the rawness of the characters- Remus is so far from a saint, can be cruel, and Sirius is his soul-damaged self.
The happy ending was unexpected, I think the fic would have worked just as well as a tragedy.

“Help him.” Remus fights away the black spots cornering his vision, but the angry bursts of black come too fast to stop. “Help him, help.”
“Shh,” She quiets him gently. “You two are in bad shape, but I’ve seen worse. See if you can get into the bed there; I’ll come to you in a moment.””
