Elrond has safely returned to Rivendell but experiences first hand how Ereinion is now slowly being corrupted by his ring after refusing to take it off despite knowing Sauron has the one in his possession. To make matters worse, his frightening foresight about the end of the world returns and now the Half-Elf is confronted with the unsettling rumours that Melkor might be making his return from the void. He needs all the help that he can get to prevent Morgoth from returning to Middle-Earth even if it means cooperating with their worst enemy.

Will Elrond's episode alienate him further from his position in court or will it heal the damaged relationship between him and his King.

This story is a direct continuation of my previous fanfic, Race for Eregion. If you haven't read that one, this might be a bit confusing.
Now that the city of Ost-in-Edhil is in ruins, the Elves desperately need more allies to face Sauron. Galadriel suggests to travel to Numenor to ask for aid. Together in a small company, Galadriel, Elrond, Camnir, Adar, Vorohil and Arondir, they travel to Númenor to propose an alliance. Their diplomatic mission starts to go awry when Elrond begins to suffer from the wounds received by Sauron.
