Summary
Tensions run high as Adar and Elrond meet to negotiate outside the besieged city of Eregion. When the Elven commander refuses to give up the ring of power, Adar suggests an alternative solution that catches the Half-elf by surprise. The Moriondor will agree to an alliance between Uruks and Elves upon one very specific condition...a diplomatic marriage between Elrond and himself.
Elrond must grapple with political duty and personal desires as he considers Adar's proposal. Is he willing to surrender himself to the enemy for the sake of peace? Can the Half-elf heal a wounded Middle-earth by binding himself to a ruthless stranger?
Adar knows his desire for the Half-elf is dangerous, but he cannot resist his gentle beauty. Conquest requires patience both on and off the battlefield, and the Moriondor is determined to win Elrond's hand as well as his heart.

Summary
After the siege of Eregion, some of the Uruk who did not fall under the influence of Sauron retrieve Adar's body and discover he is still alive. They go into hiding, led by Camnir who has befriended them and who uses his expertise to navigate them around without being discovered. When Camnir is captured then left for dead with a broken leg, the Uruk rescue him and Adar can no longer ignore the feelings that have developed between them. Lots of hurt/comfort and cuddling ensues. They are also probably soulmates.

Camnir, trembling, shoulders hunched like a spooked rabbit, looked up at him. Then at the dead rat. Then back at Elrond, eyes wide with desperate hope.
Elrond opened his mouth. Closed it. Glanced at the rat again, suspiciously dry, suspiciously stiff, like some grim trophy, plopped there with way too much pride.
No. No, this surely was not what Gil-galad had intended when he’d been told to “deliver these records to Lord Celebrimbor and assist with any mapping.”

Or, in an alternate timeline from ROP, Elrond and Galadriel are sent to Khazad-dum to sign a treaty between Gil-galad and Durin III - and to attend the wedding of Prince Durin and Disa. Galadriel wants dwarvish-style braids as a sign of respect, but while braiding her hair, Elrond's thoughts focus more on his romantic feelings.
