Summary
Marc doesn't remember Jake and Steven as his brothers, can the boys figure out what is happening and how to bring their brother back before he's gone forever? Or before it's too late?
EXCERPT:

“Kid, put the knife down. We can talk without anyone getting hurt.”
Jake pleaded, shuffling a step towards the two; which instantaneously resulted in Marc’s tightened grip on the Brit and yanking him back against the wall.The helpless tsunami of emotions threatened to sink him under, his throat closing as Steven tried to crane his neck to gaze at his brother, to no avail as Marc shoved the knife deeper into his neck.
“Shut the fuck up. You have five seconds to tell me who you are, before I kill him.”
“Marc?” Steven’s voice caught upon a sob, a whispered plea as he yearned for his brother to come back.
“It’s us. Jake and Steven, your brothers.”“Brothers?” Marc’s harsh bark of laughter spilled from his throat and Steven flinched as the tip of the knife pinched painfully into his skin.
“My brother died.”Jake’s stomach twisted, dread and horror snarling with each inhale, sinking its claws deeper and deeper into the protector.

Summary
Marc woke up and realised that Jake and Steven weren't in the Mindspace. He would find his brothers and get them back and he would destroy the world to find them. Whoever had taken them would not be alive for much longer. (What he doesn't realise is that its much more complicated than that...)
EXCERPT:
Marc stirred from his slumber, the sunlight streaming into his room, his eyes fluttering open. The realisation was sudden, jolting him awake, sobering him.
There was a vast emptiness that consumed, smothered and Marc suddenly found he wasn’t able to breathe through the thick fog that seemed to hang in the air.The mercenary was alone and he didn’t even know how that was possible, but he was alone.
Jake and Steven were nowhere in the mindscape, the carefully crafted home felt so wrong, so unlike the warm comforting abode he remembered.
It was so empty without them.He hated it.
He despised it.He was isolated, a feeling he hadn’t experienced since he was a child. No comforting presences, no teasing or laughter coursing through the mindscape, just a silence that haunted his very soul, a silence that left him reeling.
He would find them, no matter what...

Summary
Marc was hurt, caught within memories, so he had left himself locked in the mindscape. Except, when they need him in a life or death situation, he ignores them (unknowing the urgency). What he doesn't know is that Jake is once again fighting for his life and Steven is helpless.
EXCERPT:
Twisting to glance behind him, Steven regarded the locked door with sheer distress.
“Marc!” Steven screamed, his voice echoing in the hallways, carrying itself through the mindscape.
“Marc! Please. Jake’s dying!”The lack of answer didn’t surprise Steven and yet, it stole his hope and Steven found his hands lacing in his hair, trying to force himself to the present.
“Kid.” His voice wasn’t responding properly and the words were deeply slurred.
“Jake, you’re going to be fine. Just fine, don’t fall asleep.”
The New Yorker knew death, it had become a constant within his life, a swirling dance that always left him in fear.
It never made anything easier.
It never made this easier and the stray tear traced down his cheek at the realisation.Series

Summary

Marc doesn't like the rain, it reminds him of his past and one particularly night, as the rain poured down spirals him into a flashback. Steven and Jake have to help bring him back.
EXCERPT:
The rain descended on the roof, the noise of the water droplets sent an echo to the apartments below.
Marc was not fond of the rain, it reminded him too much of that day…
Too much of his young childhood, which he tried to shove down and forget.
The cave.
Randall.
His mum…
The rain pounded, the heavy shower sending Marc into a spiralling state of panic, the mercenary took a deep breath, cocoa eyes trained on Gus the second as he forced himself to stay calm.
The memories dwindled in his consciousness and he was finding it increasingly difficult to hold them back.Series
