Summary
From his perspective, he thinks he looks quite chivalrous, hair blowing in the wind, and his bandages not yet sticky from the salty air. So it comes as some surprise when the boy in the water immediately stops struggling and smacks his hand away.
“What the fuck are you doing?” He says, and Dazai comes to the unfortunate conclusion that he had misread the situation. Perhaps Mori was right, and he should have taken that eye exam when he had the chance.

Trying to uphold these impossible standards, he gets confronted with how coping mechanisms meant to maintain control can lead to losing it.
Enter Chuuya Nakahara: sports science major, easygoing, backed by a supportive family, and the last person Dazai wants as a roommate. As their contrasting worlds collide and the pressure on Dazai keeps building he is forced to ask himself: is the price of excellence really worth it?
At 15 he brought back a 97 on a test.
"What did you miss?" was all Mori asked.
"One question,"
"And why did you miss it?"
"I misunderstood—"
"You didn't prepare properly," Mori cut him off. "Careless. Do you want to be a doctor responsible for patients dying because of such mistakes?"
"No, sir."

A SKK ice skating AU where Dazai and Chuuya both end up in Russia, training for a major upcoming competition.
The two on-ice rivals are both well-known in their respective home countries, and are often pitted against each other by ice skating fans. As they both have their minds set on practicing, allegations come out against Dazai that involve his past before becoming so famous, which generate quite a bit of backlash against him.
In an attempt to save face and put Chuuya on international radars, the two are forced into an unlikely partnership that involves a lot of awkward practices, public confusion, and smothered feelings.

Sure, they’ve known each other since they were children, and they’re each other’s #1 on their best friend lists on Snapchat, and Chuuya’s been seen one too many times in his hoodies.
