Summary
Hazel's life has been ruled by expectations and the heavy burden of a role she never chose. The crown she wears feels less like a symbol of power and more like a cage, each day pushing her closer to the edge. Exhausted, restless, and haunted by the fear that one wrong step could destroy everything.
Assigned a seemingly simple but important mission, along with the task of watching over one of Jade Mountain's most rebellious students, Hazel soon uncovers secrets far deeper and more dangerous than she ever expected.
Now, caught between duty and desire, she must decide whether to finally accept the crown she bears or let it burn away in the fire of her own shadow.
