The myth came rushing back to him, bringing on a thrum of adrenaline. He jolted up, his heart banging in his skull.
This was stupid. He was being stupid, and this was nothing but a desperate grasp at hope. He hadn’t worked through his grief yet, and he was still bargaining. There was no way he could do it, no way this could even formulate into a plan.
Even so, his mind whirred, trying to fit nonexistent puzzle pieces together.

Summary
Lupa had carved something out of him when he was barely old enough to understand what he was losing. A boy raised among wolves did not come back clean. He came back feral, sharp-toothed, instincts snarling under his skin. Rome taught him to bury it. Camp Jupiter gave him rules and armor and honorifics—mask after mask until the boy beneath was unrecognizable.
And gods, he was so good at playing the part. Jason Grace, the Roman ideal. Jason Grace, the child of Jupiter. Jason Grace, who could shoulder the world and never break.
But inside? He was still crouched in the dirt, hackles raised, ready to snap.

Summary
Jason was drifting. He lost something when Leo died - a fraction of himself that no doubt followed Leo to Elysium. Even in death, Jason wanted nothing more than to trail after the son of Hephaestus. He was so lost without Leo to act as his guide, his spark in the overwhelming darkness that had surrounded him since August.
Thankfully, he still had the rest of the Seven to pull him out of the ground whenever things got bad. They lingered - not quite obnoxious, but cautious in a way that made Jason feel comforted. They did everything they could, but nothing seemed to be able to distract from the hollowness.
So when Piper, his ex girlfriend-turned best friend offers him an opportunity to live like a kid for once, who is he to say no? It´s either that or wallow in his cold, empty cabin until summer.
Between cheesy rom coms, calculus, and bonding over what´s been lost, Jason starts to relearn what it means to be alive. He starts to consider that, maybe, this world is manageable without Leo Valdez.
But then an iris message arrives and shatters his carefully constructed framework of peace, and he´s dragged right back into a whirlwind of brilliant ideas and beautiful smiles.(title from florence + machine)
