Summary
Illumi’s arm is outstretched, fingers groping for an alarm that never rang. His mind is already racing through a day that won’t arrive, accounting for time he hasn’t lost. The realization settles slowly.
Then: the sound of breathing—soft, doubled. One slow and steady. The other, lighter. Sage, no doubt, tucked somewhere between them.
The scent hits him next. Vanilla and bergamot, soaked into the sheets. The warmth of someone else beside him.
Hisoka.
Illumi lets his hand fall limp to the mattress. He turns, carefully.
There he is. Barely visible in the dim light, curled just within reach.

Summary
1840: A freshly ordained priest sets out to lead his first congregation in a secluded village in the mountains. Kurapika has begged the bishop to be sent there, to penetrate the secret of the previous priest’s disappearance. Yet upon his arrival, he finds the small village in a far more wretched state than anticipated – the church desecrated and the landlord’ mansion in ruins. He now finds himself confronted with the reality of a flock of terrified non-believers and their ghastly visions – flying demons that steal the warmth from your blood, shrieks echoing in the wee hours of the morning.
During his investigation to exorcise this evil along with the ghosts of his own past, he finds a journal tucked away in the sacristy. It tells the story of the landlord’s oldest son – a young man by the name of Illumi and his encounter with the priest Kurapika has come to replace. The more he reads, the more he becomes convinced that this priest is not a holy man but a spawn of hell that drove Illumi together with the whole village down an ensanguined path of death and desire. Kurapika also realises that Illumi’s descriptions of this fiendish Father Morow are not unrelated to the shadow that has been haunting his own steps.Bookmarked by Ravenofdiscord

Summary
/If it came down to it, could Hisoka kill me?/
His parents' concerns were valid: he couldn't blame them for worrying about the dangers. They were all protective of each other, after all. Illumi had guarded Killua from a distance for years. Mind control was power he didn't think he'd ever use in that context again. But maybe it was worth the effort, just to be certain.
