Summary
Dick gets fired from being Robin. And he quits, sort of. Regardless, Gotham can’t be his home anymore. Bruce and Dick have never been father and son without being Batman and Robin, not really. Dick doesn’t feel like they know how. Dick spends a summer leaning on his friends and trying to figure out what to do while trying to reconcile the fact that the place he was promised isn’t there anymore. Also, he’s pretty sure he’s in love with his best friend, which is entirely unhelpful.
It’s messy, it’s complicated, it’s them figuring it out.
(If you read my fic: “oh where have you been, oh blue eyed son?” This is like chapter four stretched into its own fic)

Summary
Damien Al-Ghul was ten when he arrived at the manor, belligerent and angry and ready to swing at anyone who looked at him wrong. To Tim, he was a nuisance and a pest. To Bruce, he was a complication and something to work out. To Dick, he was a child dangerously close to a cliff’s edge. To the rest of the family, he was an enigma, something to tiptoe around, a living bomb of sorts.
But to Jon Kent, he was, first and foremost, a friend.

It took about two seconds for all three to notice.
Dick, mid-sip of coffee, froze—then promptly choked.
Tim just… stared, spoon hovering over his cereal, mouth slightly open.
Duke’s eyes darted from the pint-sized Bat to Jason’s smug grin and back again, as though his brain was rebooting.
Jason was loving every second.
“Well,” Jason said cheerfully, “I found the demon brat.”
“That’s… not…” Dick’s voice trailed off as his brain apparently refused to finish the sentence. “That’s not Damian.”
“Oh, it’s him alright,” Jason said, bouncing the kid slightly just to watch their expressions twitch. “He’s just… fun-sized now.”
