By the time they get to the restaurant, there is still most of the afternoon left. They get a booth and their socked ankles knock against each other once, by accident. Aki orders for them both. When their dishes come, Angel endures several minutes of Aki just watching him eat, his expression blank.
“We can do this again,” Aki announces finally, picking up his chopsticks at last.
“What?” Angel says, around a mouthful of rice.
Aki takes his first bite of eel. “You were right,” he says, when he’s finished swallowing. “This is better than the cafeteria.”

Angel stays very still. The Gun Devil, squinting at Angel like he’s trying to figure something out, doesn’t shoot. Something hopeful flickers in his expression.
“Angel?” he asks, disbelieving.
“The Gun Devil,” Angel returns warily, unsure of what the normal response is here. Does he beg for his life? Would that even do anything?
The Gun Devil’s expression shutters. “Sorry,” he says. The gun drops down.
The Gun Devil has taken an interest in Angel.

When he turns around, Angel has returned to his ice-cream. Strawberry smears one corner of his mouth. Aki frowns and grabs a napkin, reaching across the table.
He only registers what he's doing when he feels the warmth of Angel's lips through the thin paper. His eyes drop to Angel's. Trapped, he finishes cleaning the mess; leans back in his seat, scrunches the napkin, and drops it onto his plate.
