Summary
Inspired by a picture of a dress from the late Victorian Era and suggested as a prompt by one of my fellow MSATD X/Twitter group members, I worked on how to start this. With a loose outline in my head and certain scenarios in my brain, I have started this fic with Chapter 1.
William is waiting for Eliza as she dresses for an event. They have been married for a couple of years and Eliza is put out by the new fancy ball gown that she has decided to wear. She thinks it is too flashy and garish for the wife of the Police Chief of Manhattan precinct.
William thinks, as always, that his wife is beautiful and not dressed garishly. However, he needs to convince Eliza especially, so they won't be late and really be talked of at the event.
William realizes one way of hurrying Eliza long and not decide to wear something else.

Summary
Post-second wizarding war, the students of Hermione's year of Hogwarts are returning to finish their magical education and take their NEWT examinations.
Hermione is a newly registered Animagus, taking the form of a rather fluffy, brown cat.
Draco Malfoy, forced to return in penance for his actions, is bullied and discarded by the wizarding community for the actions he and his family had taken during the war.
The only solace he manages to find within the walls of the school... is a small, brown cat, who takes up a guardian-type status over him, becoming his only source of comfort, unaware of the cats true identity.

The enmity of the first couple years gave way to friendly sparky banter and an enjoyment of each other's company that made them excellent colleagues. In the last couple of years, Draco had even begun to think of her as a friend. In the last few months, he had come to realize that he desperately wanted to snog her senseless and make love to her on top of her desk or on the green couch where he often worked. The primary impediment of course being that she was married to the Weasel. Granger had been amazingly helpful when Tori died the year before last. It had been the catalyst that changed everything. Helping feed Scorpius with a little muggle spoon shaped like an airplane was what had set off Hermione's baby fever. She had said so many times.

Just when I think my life can't turn into any more of a shit show than it already is, Draco Malfoy moves into the townhome next to the shady apartments I'm living in. His cold and blatant staring ensures me he's judging me just as harshly as everyone else in town. He doesn't know me, but he seems to think he does. He judges my pregnant belly, Rose's inability to stop bugging him, the dark circles under my eyes, and the fact that I couldn't care less what the public thinks of me anymore.
He stays rude for months before something changes, and I'm not sure what it is. He decides we're worth his friendship, I guess. Turns out, he's a little rough around the edges, but his bark is worse than his bite. Suddenly, we're building an unlikely friendship, and he's also befriending my four year old daughter, Rose.
His strange personality change is unraveling me.
