Wishing every time he’d look up, he’d see that soft upturn of his lip, the gentle slope of his hair that he’d occasionally brush away while talking? But to only be met by the empty pavement, maybe it was stupid to hope.
It was getting too late now anyway. Running his fingers through his hair, he turned back, making his way to the door.
