Summary
The slightest coincidence leads to the reunion of two late partners; one which is in complete denial of his slow, ever-growing feelings, whereas the other dreads the reunion with every inch of his being (not a lot of inches honestly).
Coincidence or not, the certain brunette has prepared himself for an important apology directed only towards the ginger. Failure is a major part of his journey, although, slow burning mutual feelings are not so well hidden.
Or;
Chuuya meets Dazai after years of abandonment (after Dazai left the pm), and Dazai tries his best to apologize for his past mistakes. Though, their mutual hate doesn't last long as they become closer due to his delayed attempts at the apology.

Fushiguro splutters. “What?!”
Kugisaki glares at him, eyes venomous as she angrily swallows her soup. “I don’t even like boys, but if that’ll wake you up and get you to do something about… this-” she gestures at him unhelpfully “-so that I can stop watching you pine and make those dopey eyes at him while I’m trying to eat my goddamn food, I swear to god I will kiss him. Even if that repulses me to no end.”
“I-”
“Save it.” Kugisaki cuts him off. “Your shikigami could do better.”
Fushiguro jolts, his mind unhelpfully supplying the image of his jade hounds nuzzled against both sides of Itadori, licking and pawing at him. He sighs heavily. “Tell me about it.”

"Oi, the fuck are you doing in there?"
The voice that interrupts his afternoon break comes from a boy standing outside the fountain. Dazai's only able to make out the obnoxiously bright ginger hair on the other side of the water that separates them, but it's annoying enough as it is. Turning his head, Dazai decides to ignore him until he leaves.
"You know I can see you, right? You were just looking at me!"

“Okay so if we’re both still single when we’re twenty two,” Dazai’s smile grew even wider. “Let’s marry each other.”
By the time Chuuya’s twenty two, he’d probably be in a relationship with someone else, and the possibilities of them even remembering each other were slim to none.
And so, Chuuya gave his answer.
“Fine, let’s do that.”
In short, fifteen year olds Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya made a stupid promise one day in their school library out of boredom, which leads to the next seven years of their life filled with fighting, burnt notebooks and late night conversations.

Summary
Since he can remember, the only sincere reprieve Dazai has ever received from the storm in his mind was books. Mori had been fond of all kinds of literature, stocking the shelves of his old home with volumes and volumes of escape mechanisms. Like a thing starved, Dazai devoured them, shutting out the rest of the world in his pursuit of peace.
Opening the shop had been natural, and he’d quickly accrued a slew of regulars who would listen to him wax poetic about his favorite novels. He’d had quite a few starry-eyed admirers lean across the counter, eyes intent on him as he spouted off flowery quote after fiery quote, yet no one had ever spiked Dazai’s interest enough for him to take their affections seriously.
Yet he’d grown all too fond of romances, of the comfort in the knowledge of a happy ending. No matter what, at the end of the story, the princess always found her prince, regardless of any bumps they hit along the way. No matter how rocky the start, no matter how dire the situation, love always pulled through.
