Hiccup looked at her for a while- taking calming breaths in and out as he tried to articulate the words. “I uhm- just- I don’t-… I look ugly. Without- without clothes… on…” His voice trailed off into a mutter the further into the sentence he got. By the Gods this was humiliating.
He loathed the look of sheer sadness that plagued her features at his words.
“Babe… I promise you that you don’t,” Astrid hummed, her hand rising to gingerly rest on his back.
“No- No it’s- it’s bad. It’s really bad.”

Like the boy was one of them, a dragon just a tad smaller with no wings and tail―but one of them. The dragons followed Hiccup around, obeying to his words without a second. And Hiccup? He's oblivious to it all.
