When Dagur and Heather make a short visit to the Edge, they quickly realize something the others already know — Hiccup’s cuteness is impossible to resist. From his bright eyes to his flustered little mannerisms, even the Berserker siblings aren’t immune to his charm. Heather finds herself softening toward him in ways she never expected, while Dagur, in true Dagur fashion, takes it a step further: half-joking, half-serious, he nearly decides to keep Hiccup all to himself.

Set during RttE.
The riders noticed how kind Hiccup is. No matter how annoying they are, how much troubles they caused (especially the twins), and how they complain every chance they get, Hiccup never seems to get annoyed that much or get angry. Then their minds unhelpfully set them back to the past ― before the dragons, before Hiccup saved them from the red death, before Hiccup (small, scrawny, useless Hiccup) became their friend.
Needless to say, realizations set in and apologies are uttered.

Summary
Thick armor made of glistering scales covered a slim, muscular body. Gloved fingers itched toward a holster which held a sharp sword. A helmet made to fit the rest of the armor covered a head. The only gaps in the whole outfit were the slits at his eyes, and a pair of green ones shone bright from behind them. He looked like a mix between a soldier and a dragon, and Stoick found himself swallowing thickly, his own fingers itching toward his ax.
OR:
After being disowned by his father, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III fled Berk and was never seen again. When the infamous dragon rider called 'The Champion' suddenly gets onto Berk's radar quite a few months later, things change.

Summary
From the day he was born, Hiccup was a disappointment. Seriously, that's what his name means. Good thing that he lived up to his name. No matter what he did, he always had a way of messing it up. Fishing, sowing, cooking, building, fighting, leading, and the list goes on until Ragnarok. Hiccup could fail at every single one. Maybe blacksmithing was something he was good at, but he still had a plethora of mistakes in that field too.
The only thing Hiccup was good at was the only thing that all Vikings didn't need. Dragons. No one knew about his skill accept for himself. While it may sound good to have a way with the beasts to most vikings, Hiccup was not like most vikings.
In fact, he was more like the 'beasts' himself.
