Saotome Ranma didn't expect to fall into a magic spring in China that would transform him into a girl. He definitely didn't expect to immediately after fall into a second spring that made it so his feminine form carried the baggage of also making him a literal vampire. He absolutely did not expect his old man to then drag him back to Japan to get married to a girl he never met.
