He ventures, voice low, almost to a whisper: “She is so angry."
“Is she angry?”
“Yes."
Qui-Gon looks away, fiddles with a dial. “And where does anger come from?”
Of course it can’t just be a chat. It has to be a test. “You think she is afraid?"
“I think a whole civilisation is raging a war she obviously doesn’t want, in her name, all around her. A war that has already claimed the life of her mother and father, and, we can assume, countless other loved ones. And I think she thinks it is her responsibility to stop it. So yes, Obi-Wan, I think she is afraid.”
Obi-Wan's Master has displeased the Council, again, and now they must both suffer for it. Master Windu may say their latest mission is not a punishment, but why else would they be sent to Mandalore, a place from which few Jedi return?
Now they must protect a Mandalorian duchess who trusts the Jedi even less than she trusts her own family, and stop a civil war between the ruling House of Mandalore before it spirals into a galactic conflict. All in the name of peace.
