It's hard to keep a straight face at that.
Clark's lips curve into a fond smile as he chuckles and shakes his head, leaning back against his seat, a hand rubbing across the nape of his neck.
"Yeah. Maybe I have. The coffee's great here. And the company is really nice." Clark offers a smile as he meets Bruce's eyes, holding his gaze for a beat too long before returning it to his pie.
He doesn't miss the way Bruce's heart rate stutters at his comment.

Or, Clark Kent can't do one night stands, and Bruce is just his usual human disaster.(This story officially ends at Chapter 5.

Clark paused for a moment.
The article he wrote about the incident was insignificant, yet something about it seemed to have stuck out to Bruce Wayne.
“A lot of reporters covered that story.”
“Yes. A lot of reporters did, didn’t they?”
It felt like a trick, but he nodded anyways.
“So many reporters-” Bruce’s eyes finally moved away from the guests and back onto Clark. “And yet-” he took a small sip of the champagne- “you’re the only one who didn’t mention my kids.”

“Woah!”
They froze.
A wolf whistle echoed through the conference room behind Bruce. Colour flooded Clark’s face. He dropped his hands from Bruce’s hair in a rush and quickly helped him pull his cowl back on before Bruce backed up and helped him to his feet off the table.
The awkward tension was thick enough to cut.
Or
Bruce & Clark decide to spend some post-mission time together in the conference room. Unfortunately, they seem to forget there was a meeting planned...
