Summary
Sonic met Shadow for the very first time… but it wasn’t when G.U.N was chasing down Sonic, mistaking one for the other. It never happened in the pitch-black of night. In fact, it was what most people called the White Space. Right now, Classic Sonic was lazing over a palm tree, thrown together in a living diorama, not realizing that he would meet the hedgehog of his future dreams… and just what he needed in this moment.
Classic Sonic is typically the physical embodiment of pride. The coolest thing since sliced bread, but after meeting his future friends, and their unflattering comments about his body, his confidence tanks, brought back up by a kind black hedgehog.

Summary
White Space had always been finicky.
The endless, mute expanse of white, ocassionally interrupted by a flicker, an idea, of the past. As fun as it may be seeing his past unfold once more, visiting the old paths of Green Hill Zone, or running on the orange shingles of Spagonia, something ached within Sonic.
Something was missing. He's seen every step of his life there since he was, what, 8? And yet a piece of him escapes even the claustrophobic stare of this expanse.
He remembers it like yesterday. The vigor behind each strike, the new, unfamiliar world. It was beautiful. Yet, it's far out of his control. He cannot go back. Not even for a moment. It has never held him back, but in times of silence, where Eggman is too busy licking bruises, he catches himself yearning.

Sonic's quiet. Sonic's never quiet. It's against the very nature of who Sonic is. But here he is, sitting hushed, off to the side as the rest of his friends chatter around the television, playing video games. Shadow didn't even realise Sonic was here at first; he had been the last to arrive, and the group was quick to pull him onto the tiny couch, handing him a controller before he had a chance to scan the room. His first thought after not instantly seeing the blue hedgehog was to assume he was on a run, or perhaps he hadn't decided to grace them with his presence today. But no. Sonic was, indeed, in the room. Tucked into the corner armchair, watching his friends play, not saying a word.
