Maybe it's the amount of radiance collected by Kingdom in the area. Maybe it's the adrenaline pulsing through her body.
All she knows is that she coughs out blood- unclear if it's from injury during the shootouts- her trinkets for overgrowth sputter and lose light, and the plant placed in the corner of the room, with what little light it had, rots and dies once her eyes are open. She wonders if this is what Neon feels about her radiance, registering that she had killed the plant with fear in her eyes.
Just as she writes off trying that ever again, she hears a rustle inside the room. Her gun is quickly raised, but nothing new is there that she can see immediately.

Rumi stood, surrounded by piles of ash that threatened to lazily float away in the wind, face scrunched up into a snarl. Her posture was hunched, wicked claws flexed, ready to sink into another body.The remaining demons hesitated as Rumi stood there looking fiercer and hungrier for blood than any of them.
What caught Mira’s eye, once she pulled away from her girlfriend's glowing irises, were the razor-sharp horns sticking out of her forehead. They framed her face in a way that had Mira’s already jelly-like legs feeling weak.
Rumi had bullied the other demons into a tense standstill, but she didn’t look anywhere near done. She simply stood. And waited. Ready to rip the throat out of whoever dared to move next.
“Wow,” Zoey said under her breath.
Mira stared with a slackened jaw. If she weren't hurting a lot right now, she’d probably be a blushing mess.
Rumi looked… Well, just like Zoey said, ‘Wow.’

Mira thinks Zoey’s got a bit of an obsession with the newly sharp edges of Rumi’s teeth, though she can’t say Rumi’s mouth has never intrigued her, either.
