“Why are you so contrary?” Sunday asks. “Everything you say and do now is like a blunt, rusted knife—you lack decorum and tact in everything. Even in this—even in Death—you are messy and needlessly cruel.”
“You’re surprised?” Gallagher asks, his voice rough. “You, who has always called me his wild hound? You, who holds this planet in his hand, keeping people trapped in a living hell you flaunt as heaven? Your so-called ‘beautiful dream’ is nothing but a means of control under the guise of carrying out the Harmony’s will. Isn’t that fitting? A two-faced bird, serving the Thousand-Faced Soul.”
