Summary
He makes it a point not to look away from Yoongi, to show him how much he means it. Yoongi maintains eye-contact for once, his pupils dilated, his lids heavy from what Jeongguk guesses is a severe lack of sleep. Yoongi is so much like him in so many ways, though he’d be afraid to draw the comparison out loud.
(Jeongguk and Yoongi, both consistently sleep deprived and somewhat desperate to make a mark on the world, keep coincidentally running into one another until their lives start becoming more and more intertwined.)

Because there’s something about Yoongi he can’t push out of his mind, something sharp and lingering that refuses to fade.
Maybe it’s the beauty of his delicate features, or the way his skin looks so eerily soft, impossibly smooth.
Maybe it’s the three silver rings that decorate each ear—one on the helix, two on the lobes. They glint against the jet-black of his hair, and Namjoon often finds himself wondering how they’d feel against his lips. Cold, probably. Cold and sharp against the heat of skin. He wants to bite them, tug them, hear Yoongi’s breath hitch in surprise. Hear his voice break, finally."
Namjoon can’t stop thinking about the quiet grocery store cashier who never smiles. Yoongi is distant, guarded, and clearly wants to be left alone. But Namjoon sees something behind his eyes. And he keeps coming back, hoping Yoongi might let him in before he disappears completely.

Summary
Min Yoongi has always been good at precisely three things: narrowly slipping himself out of shitty situations, making bad sexual decisions, and self-sabotage. After a stint in rehab over the summer, Yoongi's back at school, but not much has changed. His teachers don't expect much, his best friend can barely look at him, and he can't get through a day without something to drive his anxiety away.
That's until his guidance counselor sticks him with a tutor to help him complete senior year.
Enter Kim Seokjin, who has always done everything right. The grades, the sports, the picture-perfect image. As far as Yoongi is concerned, Seokjin is everything he hates-- everything he isn't. But beneath the polished exterior, Seokjin is crumbling under expectations he can't meet. Tutoring Yoongi was meant to be an easy community service credit, but instead, it's forcing Seokjin to confront parts of himself he'd been running from.
What starts as mutual resentment slowly shifts into something neither of them is ready to name. But change doesn’t come easy, and some wounds are cut too deep to heal.
