Then fate rewinds and watches again, but this time she’s watching her own mortal, the one she had always favored. People say that fate is a cruel mistress and they're not wrong. She has to be, for she knows the consequences of her actions, but just this once maybe she could have a favorite. And as she watches obsidian eyes lose their light all while writhing in agony she thinks. I can help my favorite mortal too. She looks into those obsidian eyes and whispers.

Summary
It was over. Harry had done it. Voldemort was dead. The death Eaters had backed down. He looked up catching sight of platinum hair. Draco and his mother had helped in the end. The light probably would have lost if not for them. Harry caught his eye and smiled. Draco returned the gesture with a nod of his head. As he turned to walk back to his mother a blur of red crashed in to him. It was Ron with Draco's wand in hand pointed at Harry. Next to him stood a smirking Hermione and before he could say a word, a flash of green hit him.
