Summary
Eve hates her job.
When she's sent on a last minute work 'bonding' trip to Solace, an adult summer camp rumored to be both the film location of and the inspiration for a slasher film, she can't imagine anything worse. Except for when her coworkers' bodies start popping up one by one...and the murders start looking a lot like love letters.
Eve knows she isn't exactly final girl material--not young or pure enough by Hollywood standards--but she can't say she isn't flattered by the attention, or viscerally fascinated by each new kill. As a long week passes and Solace turns out to contain no comfort at all, she just might come to terms with the fact that the only thing better than surviving a serial killer is seducing one.

Caitlyn blinked the sleep from her eyes, almost in shock that she had received a response already. Gay panic was setting in and fighting with her morals.
Hesitant and heart racing, her finger hovered over the notification until she gained enough courage to click the screen and began to read the email.

So, I guess I’m supposed to introduce myself, right?
I’m Vi. I’m in prison (obviously). Been here a while, not sure how much longer. I like reading, working out, and keeping my mind busy. Mostly keep to myself. I’m not gonna pretend I’m thrilled about this pen pal gig, but I don’t mind writing. It’s something to do.

‘Shhh!’ Cait turns back to Vi, aghast, ‘Be quiet!’
Vi’s not entirely sure what emboldens her at that point. Maybe it’s the ridiculousness of the situation: in a brothel, a fancy Piltovan hides from her fancy colleagues in a decidedly unfancy storage cupboard.
Or maybe it’s the way that Cait’s fingers are digging into her hipbones, desperate. She tilts her chin up petulantly.
‘Make me.’

When she’d tilted her head for Vi to follow her, to leave the cell she’d spent months in alone, Vi hadn’t known what to do. So, she’d taken one step at a time until she was down the hall and in the elevator. Had stood with the woman and the burly guard who’d walloped her good so many times over the years.
When she’d been given new clothes to wear, been given her release forms, all Vi could do was stare at the woman. Stare at her long and hard, unable to comprehend why she had actually gone and gotten her out.
She never got her answer—not verbally, but Vi knew.
Knew that Caitlyn Kiramman had, inadvertently, saved her life.
