Summary
Will raised an eyebrow at his friend's antics, then dropped his eyes to where he knew Dustin had reached a hand out towards him.
“This summer, we stick together. You and me, Byers.”
Will grinned, taking Dustin’s hand and shaking it. “You and me, Henderson.”
A rewrite of S3:
The night Dustin gets back from Camp Knowhere, he brings the Party up to the highest point in Hawkins to set up Cerebro. He thought that his friends would be excited to have him back-- even if it wasn't the most entertaining to sit on a hill and talk into a radio with no response, he thought they would at least wait for him before going home. He thought it was going to be the best summer ever.
Instead, he finds himself and the one friend that didn't leave him, Will Byers, intercepting a weird Russian transmission.
And, well... if he couldn't have the best summer ever, at least he and Will would have an eventful one.

Summary
He thinks back to the lights flickering in his home. To the Party drifting away from each other—drifting away from him—in a way that now feels like far too familiar of a scheme. He thinks back to that dream he had of Will, after months of not having a single one, and to all the other, smaller moments when things didn’t make sense, and—
Mike understands.
He finally understands.
“It’s not real,” Mike whispers.
Or:
In the aftermath of Vecna’s defeat and El’s death, Mike begins to realize everything is not as it seems in Hawkins.

Summary
It’s seriously hot in here. Will shifts on the carpet, his stomach rolling. It feels like his skin is welting from the heat. He blinks hard, fruitlessly trying to slow the rapid rise and fall of his chest.
“Will?” Lucas calls, sounding far away.
Across the room, there’s a clamor, and then an understanding, “Oh, fuck.”
Everyone seems to realize the same thing at once, himself included. He’s going into heat. He’s going into heat in the middle of Mike’s basement, with everyone watching.
It's the summer of 1985, and everything in Will's life is already falling apart. So, of course, puberty just has to go and make it all worse.
