It was 6 years ago you settled down in Earth C, and your mind seemed to drift to the past. You found solace in memory more so than people, despite half the memories being tragically traumatic. Currently, this mindset doesn't matter. Currently you're in bed thinking about how to word the fact you feel hotter than usual, more easily nervous, and a little more impulsive, all around your best friend. And you're starting to wonder if the future might interest you more.

(basically i wanted to make a johndave fanfic in epilogue style where dirk and john fight over the narrative, don't ask why or HOW john has narration shit (maybe to do with retcon?), i didn't even understand why the hell dirk had it but it adds some pizazz and it's unique...-ish (not sure if it's been done before, i don't avidly read every homestuck fanfic) so SHRUG.)

Summary
Let it not be said that my life was one of mere lawlessness. No, it is one of unyielding pursuit of that which all souls yearn for - freedom. A freedom purchased dearly with the coin of daring and the resolve of my soul. I find that freedom here, on this deck, under darkened skies and over deepening blues. Here, I live bound only by the chains I elect to accept, and break those I do not. Away from the choking confines of land and law, a person may truly wield their fate like a blade, sharp and shining.
This fic is a bit of an extended metaphor. It's not really 100% about Vriska and Eridan. It's not about Mindfang and Dualscar. It's closer to the versions of Mindfang and Dualscar that they roleplayed as - but still not quite. Mostly this is a metaphor about the impact that Eridan and Vriska had (or could have had) on each other.

But, this wasn't the same as any of his hangouts with Owen. It wasn’t even the same as any of his hangouts with Cody before. It felt more…intimate? He didn't know if that was the right word to describe it, but he knew that it was different for sure. Watching a movie in somebody's bed that wasn't his own was probably leagues more domestic than whatever shenanigans his other friends got up to and forcibly dragged him into.

Summary
Six sweeps ago Eridan Ampora graduated from the Naval Academy of the Alternian Empire and began a new chapter of his life. Leaving Alternia and his previous life behind he found himself lucky enough to be placed in direct command of a small patrol fleet. Stationed at the edge of Imperial territory, he considered himself thankful even if his new life was nothing more than empty patrols and writing official reports. With his crew and his ship, even if his place in the Empire was small and insignificant he was proud, and content if not somewhat bored.
Now though, everything is changing once again as mysterious orders are sent directly from the Empress. On the precipice of a new era in the Empire, Eridan finds himself sucked into the sort of mission he had always hoped for. With only his ingenuity and his fleet, he is thrust into strange new worlds and an adventure that will make him question everything about the life he's built for himself. The life the Empire had provided, and the life that was now in peril as he tries to balance serving the Empire and surviving.

Summary
Maybe it was the Reagan who was feeling stuck and was willing to do anything to just move again. Maybe it was the Reagan that just needed closure at any cost, maybe it was the Reagan who honest to god had nothing better to do.
Maybe it was the Reagan who mourned everything she ever lost and was desperate to make up for all of it somehow.
But regardless of which Reagan it was. One of them knew the answer.

Reagan Ridley is amazing at moving on.
Said no one ever.
It's been 5 months since the Appleton Incident, five months since project reboot, five months since partnering, and Reagan still feels like it all happened yesterday. When she goes to check on Ron so she can move on, she discovers he's very much not where she left him. So when the chance to travel arises as Brett is pressured into starting a second campaign of hijinks, she decides she would be foolish not to take advantage of it. Reagan thinks to move on she needs to find Ron, but as she helps with Brett's newfound election, she begins discovering it might be time to look to the present in order to figure out her future, and that maybe her future was beside her all along.Bookmarked by STRSHRK
