Vinestaff wasn’t used to being noticed for her talents. Most tended to focus on her curse, either in awe or disgust- but never really her actual abilities that she’d learned and nourished, almost like a plant.
That is, until she was preparing for a Phight, and another demon across the lobby noticed her. Their eyes brightened and they quickly walked over- huh, they had a pink appearance like she did, but she’d never met them.

Summary
So he ends up going to her again. And again. And eventually he has a box of flowers outside his windowsill despite the raging Blackrock weather, and hes still showing up at her frontdoor with the consistency of a dog being beckoned to its master.
"You don't need to keep visiting me," She says without looking behind her. "Your flowers are grown are they not?"
Subspace doesn't know how hes supposed to respond. Its always been easy with others- no one can actually do anything to him, even that Banhammer, but Vinestaff is something of.. an equal. Deserving, Subspace supposes, of his affability. Not only that, but hes also undeserving of her scorn and disappointment for something as trivial as being "rude".
"You're company is nearly enjoyable." Is what he goes with. She goes back inside and he doesn't follow her.

His wishful boasting continued throughout their conversation, as an attempt to camouflage his sickeningly sweet passion for her time. He disliked the way his knees trembled around her, the way his palms stuck together when she asked about his well being, and everything in between. Each fleeting moment around her had the epitome of his existence oscillating with an unreasonable feeling of glee. Perhaps it was the lack of personal attention in his life that had him on cloud nine that morning. Maybe it wasn’t the fact that it was her words and not some automated voice from a lab experiment.
