Summary
In the process of trying to rescue their mutual friend Lotor, Master Bard Merla and Commander Lahn of the Independent City of Daibazaal met and became quite impressed with each other. At the time of the crisis, Merla didn't exactly have a lot of time and attention to spare, but now that everything has settled down, Merla has more leisure to look at Lahn with appreciation for his competence, bravery, and very sexy looks.
During Lahn's coronation feast, Merla finds her attention drawn to him. What better way to celebrate a victory and a coronation than by bedding the new king? Besides, Merla has a suspicion that humble Lahn will be all too happy to submit to her particular tastes.

Lotor had known for a long time that Sendak didn't remember him anymore, not since falling into Haggar's clutches. It was painful to think about, painful to remember what was and what might have been. It was better to pretend it had never happened in the first place.
He was all too aware that Sendak was not the same person anymore, but he didn't know how far his former lover had really fallen. Now, after losing to him in the Kral Zera, Lotor is finding out just how deep the corruption truly goes.

For his part, Lotor has never dealt with a dragon this big and powerful before, but he has some ideas of what to do. Tributes of gold or food only go so far to appease such large and powerful dragons. Perhaps if he offers something else...

Summary
Sendak is a young lieutenant, just trying to do his duty to the Empire. He's one of the best in his fleet at dealing with the threat of Altean pirates, who have been raiding Galra supply lines ever since the war ended when Sendak was very young. So when his commander tells him to go aid a ship currently under attack, Sendak assumes this will be simple and straightforward.
He never could've guessed that he would meet his soulmate, nor could he have predicted what would happen afterwards.

When Zarkon decides to arrange a marriage between Lotor and Sendak in order to transfer Lotor's status to a more preferred heir apparent, Sendak is... less than pleased. He had never really liked Lotor, whom he had been set up against as a rival since they were children, and all of the honors he was supposedly receiving were ultimately empty and meaningless. Why would he want to be trapped in a loveless marriage?
Of course, there is no defying the emperor. He and Lotor will simply have to find a way to live and work together, no matter how frustrating that may be. And if they eventually warm up to each other, well... only time will tell.
