Summary
A fun night out leads to some bad choices and ends in disaster for the three Lightwood children, particularly Alec. As his life starts to spiral out of control, his path crosses with an attractive stranger who might just be able to restore his faith in humanity.

Summary
Jim shuffled through the PADDs on Bones’ desk, found his personal PADD and powered it up. The open window on the PADD brought him to a halt. It was open to the last message, which had been sent to Captain Christopher Pike. Jim quickly scanned the message and felt his sense of disorientation and nausea returning. It was a letter of resignation. Jim dropped heavily into the desk chair and tried to get his mind to focus as he reread the document before him.

Bones resigns from Starfleet and Jim follows him to Georgia where he convinces Bones to marry him for legal reasons, so that they can contest the adoption of Joanna McCoy. They return to the academy, keep the marriage a secret and attempt to continue their lives as normally as possible. But the marriage is never far from mind.
