The city outside had quieted down now, but Kiramman Manor was just as quiet.
Vi sat on the edge of the couch in the luxurious living room of Kiramman Manor. She lazily swirled her glass of whiskey and hummed the melody of one of the Zaun lullabies.
"Is that singing?" Caitlyn sat down next to her and playfully nudged her shoulder.
"My mom used to hum that melody."
Caitlyn’s playful smirk of a moment ago had vanished, replaced by a sad expression. She leaned against Vi’s shoulder and stared into the fire for a moment in silence. "Are you still in this fight, Violet?"
Vi shook Caitlyn off her shoulder and looked her straight in the eye. There was a strange seriousness in her eyes, but still a playfulness. "I'm dirt under your nails, Cupcake. Nothing gonna clean me out." She leaned her head against Caitlyn’s shoulder and exhaled contentedly.
