His grip on the champagne flute in his hands is still so delicate. In the movies, people break their glasses for less than this, and he imagines how it would feel to tighten his grip, to feel the thin stem shatter between his fingertips. To make a scene, have everyone turn toward him as the music suddenly scratches off, and he stands there with his empty, bleeding hand, shards of his turmoil sitting pretty at his feet.
Shouta can’t know.
[Or: A break-up/make-up fic. Hizashi, influenced by self-doubt, ends his relationship with Shouta, only to realize he’s made a horrible mistake.]

Summary
Hizashi had been stunning since the first moment he laid eyes on him, lazing against the small cluster of rocks out in the open waves, but there’s something different about him now.
Shouta’s heart feels like it skips, thrown across a pond, skidding across the surface before finally breaking the tension, dropping down into the depths.
The weight of Hizashi’s words, and the fact that he’d said it first, aren’t missed. There’s no siren magic at work here.
This is real.

It wasn’t about the way his body still felt weak, it wasn’t about the way they hadn’t been able to decide which bill to pay that month, rent or hospital, both torn open envelopes sitting forgotten on the kitchen table. It wasn’t about the way Kaiya’s part-time job manager stopped coming around, or how he’d started smoking again, or how the fact that he had picked that habit back up made his hands shake less but Kaiya’s shake more.
It was about a man.

Summary
When a thud at Shouta's door brings with it an injured voice hero with a little too much sass for someone sporting so many bruises, Shouta digs out his first aid kit. He expects the teasing, the blood, the droopy eyelids as his friends tries to fight off his exhaustion. What he doesn't expect is a fumbled confession, or all the things that follow it.
