“Stop crying.” Her hand worms its way between your front and the rock face. She gropes at your chest. You beg her to stop. “You are such a pain. Such a pain to us all the time.”

You awake in a cold sweat, snapping upright, gasping for breath. Your face is wet with tears. You wipe them away and look around the dark room. The alarm clock says it’s 2:05 AM. You take a deep breath. Just a dream. More of a memory, but only a dream of a memory. A voice in the quiet air startles you.
