Summary

Meets an older man who goes head to head with her on medical journals; talks outcomes and hail Mary’s and procedures performed in tents in the middle of gunfights. Feels alive, feels seen and lit up in a thousand ways that are extraordinary at the time (that she will remember, even years later, will wonder if she made up).
Samira Mohan takes a year out, has a baby. Reapplies for residencies closer to her mother, to her family. Keeps an eye out at every conference she ever attends for a man called Jack with salt and pepper curls and the kind of smile that has you believing in all the possibilities the world has to offer.
