Summary
Centuries after the departure of the Elves, the slumber of the Dwarves and Ents, and the fading of magic, Men rule Middle-earth, their empires built on technology and industry, their civilizations advanced as they developed their own philosophies, laws, and politics. While the truths of the ancient ages have been long forgotten, the Valar, ever-watchful from Aman prepare themselves, executing efforts unknown to the people who now "rule" over Arda, seemingly unchallenged, for the shadow of Morgoth stirs beyond the Void and when he regains his full power, the End begins.
The prophesied Dagor Dagorath will come—the Last Battle that will devastate Arda so it may be made anew by the Second Music of the Ainur. Centuries have passed, but the peace that has settled will soon end as the forces of light and darkness will clash for the fate of Arda. Thus shall Men, and the other Children of Ilúvatar, along with the Ainur, face their greatest challenge tested, for their choices will decide whether Arda is remade in harmony or lost to ruin. Summary
In the main possibility, Acnologia the Dragon King was eventually defeated by the combined might of every single mage in Fiore due to his consumption of the magic of space and time. His death was treated with much relief for most people and with some solemnity by the Dragon Slayers who finished off his soul in the rift, for he would have destroyed the world had he not been killed.
However, in this possibility, after personally killing Igneel and with the fact that all (known) Dragons had been slayed by his hand, the Dragon parents of the Dragon Slayers disappearing due to Acnologia having reaped their souls and thus ensuring their demise once they departed from the bodies of those Dragon Slayers, everything changed when Acnologia thought back on his long life, realized how empty he truly was, and chose a different path. This is the tale of Acnologia the Dragon Slayer, not Acnologia the Dragon King...
