Once Chan is out of earshot, Jisung leans forward.
“Okay,” he says. “That was weird. Are you two fighting, or something?”
Minho frowns. “You could say that.”
“Well, what the hell happened?” Jisung asks, voice climbing to a whisper-yell. “I thought things were going well.”
Again, Minho grimaces.
“Our marriage agreement is meant to end tomorrow,” he admits. “Tonight is my last chance.”
The story of the small-town boy, Lee Minho, and the handsome chaebol, Bang Chan, is a long and winding tale.
Two parallel souls meeting by chance years ago, then separated by heartbreak, they return to each other one more time out of desperation.

Minho lifts his gaze, eyes dark and strangely intent. “I wanted to know if I could make plans to go out tomorrow night.”
“That’s fine,” Chan says easily. “Is it with one of the other members?”
Minho shakes his head. “No. It’s someone else.”
“Oh.” Chan blinks. “Okay.”
Minho being vague isn’t unusual. But Minho being vague with Chan is.
He waits, expecting more. Instead, Minho shifts, eyes dropping to the floor, then darting back up.
“I’ll be… staying the night.”
OR, the one where Minho makes plans to hook up with someone, and Chan is totally normal about it.

Minho stares at him.
Chan stares back. He almost starts to feel bad; thinks he really hurt this kid's feelings, but then he smiles. It's an odd smile. It sharpens his eyes into cunning little half lids, like he knows something that Chan doesn't. Chan braces himself for the worst. He might be a just teenager, but he's a crafty little shit. He's heard all sorts of stories around the station from his colleagues who have watched Minho grow up before their very eyes.
"I don't know why I like you," is all Minho says. He puts on that obnoxious pout of his, cherry coloured. "You're mean."
"Get off," Chan sighs, returning to his report.
"Thought that was the last time," Minho scoffs, hopping off of his desk and coming around it.
"Go away."
"It doesn't have to fix things," he says conversationally, leaning down and peeking at Chan's computer. He murmurs, right next to his ear, "We could just do it for fun."
"I said, leave!"
or the one where nineteen year old Minho tries to win the affections of Head Detective Bang one last time.

Minho surrendered to it completely, his body trembling, his hips lifting in a silent plea against Chan’s restraining thigh. The mirror above reflected only Minho's form—the nude hunter pinned beneath the vampire, except it looked pathetic, Chan was invisible, and Minho had his legs spread and hands above as he could watch his body respond to the vampire.
Chan kissed him deep, hands keeping him pressed into the mattress as Minho moaned into the kiss.
Chan finally broke the kiss, pulling back with spit webbing their lips together, just enough to gaze down at Minho’s flushed, desperate face. His thumb pressed harder against Minho’s hipbone, a silent demand. “Now,” Chan murmured, his voice a low thrum of pure command, “let me show you how thoroughly you belong to me.”

Chan’s expression softened as he watched Minho lick his lower lip, tasting remnants of both their blood. “Maybe,” he admitted quietly. “But if the medic is endangered, it’s a loss for everyone.”
“Doesn’t matter,” Minho countered instantly, voice sharp with old wounds. “Self-sacrifice is selfish and—”
“Selfless,” Chan corrected.
Minho grabbed Chan’s hand, pulling it down hard. “No. After you’re dead, everyone else lives with the guilt of losing you when they could have done something differently. You get an exit. Everyone else is trapped.” His voice cracked on the last word, splintering.

Brow still crinkled, Chan continues to stare at Minho. “Who are you?”
“I’m Lee Minho.” He says this with the most deadpan voice he can muster.
Chan snorts. “You know, I asked around about you.”
“Like actually asked around? You didn’t just go on Naver?”
“Naver? What’s—” Chan shakes his head. “Never mind that. They said that you run the best magic shop in the city, that you’re smart and reliable, but that you’re also hard to predict.”
“We also ship worldwide,” Minho adds.
Minho captures the interest of the king of demons. He's not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Minho moved back up, his eyes fixed on Chan's. "Deal."
