“It’s just been a bad week.” Liam muttered. Not a lie. He hadn’t been sleeping. Not with Theo’s face haunting his dreams every single night.

“It’s not personal, Theo.”
“Then why does it feel personal?” Theo knew exactly what he was doing, how to get under Liam’s skin, how to push until something broke.
Liam bit his lower lip, mind racing for a way out that didn’t involve confessing his newest, dirtiest secret. Theo’s eyes narrowed, searching. Surprise flickered across his face, then something darker. His expression shifted, almost imperceptibly, his pupils dilated. Liam felt it before he understood it, the air between them thickened with a sweet scent, almost like honey mixed with earth and heat.
His body reacted before his mind could catch up, heat flooding his skin. Theo knew. A slow, knowing smile curved Theo’s lips as he stepped closer, his voice carrying a soft care towards Liam. “Tell me the truth.”
