The cabling over the Carbon freezing chamber on Bespin doesn’t hold Luke’s weight, so he ends up frozen after all. Lord Vader has made his own plans for his son, and only needs to transport him to the very special location where all will be revealed. Unfortunately, they never reach it, and get stuck on a father-slab of a son camping trip instead. And the Force has decided that music is the best form of communication.
One of kitt’s favorite fic tropes is a Luke and Vader camping trip, so here we are!

The continent of Galactia is at war. With the Emperor Palpatine closing his tight grip over the remaining free city-states, his loyal son and servant, Vader, hunts down the mysterious Rebel mage who dares to oppose them.
However, there are surprises in store for everyone--Luke, his long lost father, and all their allies and enemies--and as family histories became dangerously entangled with political allegiances, destiny will not be outrun.As we update it, this will include: lists of instalments chronological order, maps for reference, historical detail, and other worldbuilding references, simply for readers' convenience. These are not at all necessary to read or understand the AU--with any luck, our worldbuilding is flexible enough to be enjoyable however much you read--but if you'd like greater clarity, if you want to know the chronology of the many instalments we've written, or if you're just curious what we were thinking in our many, many planning discussions, this is the place to check!

The continent of Galactia is at war. When the Republic of city-states was corrupted into the Empire, Anakin Skywalker lost everything, save for his cruel adoptive father, the new Emperor--so he became the very son his father wanted. Now he is the terrifying face of the Empire, the mage who hunts his own kind to extinction, whose ruthlessness is famed and feared throughout the lands.
Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker remains in ignorance of what his father came, raised by a mother who founded a Rebellion before she disappeared, and a wise mage who keeps more secrets than he tells. But the twin swords continue to carve their path and when he comes face to face with his father, it changes the face of the war permanently.
Vader cannot run from his past. Luke cannot run from the truth.
And no one--not even Palpatine--can run from their destiny.
