Father is painfully aware the way Lyney had lost his head, had stormed headfirst into Wriothesley’s trap without a second thought. She knows that he had lost his temper, had dropped his flawless act. She knows that he’d been given a choice, and that he had hesitated, had chosen to protect her rather than his siblings.
She hasn’t mentioned it, yet.
It only contributes to Lyney’s slowly mounting anxiety. She’s disappointed in him, he knows. She knows he knows. And yet, she continues to let him stew.
But a mission is different. A mission is easy when Wriothesley’s not involved.

Grimacing, Lyney looked up, and once more those eyes were the color of rubies again. Fledglings could be notoriously insatiable, but that small meal had done precious little but kickstart the beginning of his actual metabolism.
"What did you do?"
"I kept you alive like you asked," Wriothesley responded, cautious once more now that he noticed Lyney's eyes were still a deep scarlet. Hunger, still not satiated. "I never promised it would be a pleasant existence."

“I’m a professional.” Wriothesley assures him, rolling his shoulders just slightly as he sits up straighter, not quite posturing but certainly showing off what he can. Embarrassing, he scolds himself silently.
He catches how Lyney’s brows raise, as if inviting - daring - the other to try and argue further. “So am I.”
or, Wriothesley has a case to solve, Lyney has a family to protect, and opposites attract but only after they collide.

“I’m alright, see? Forget that ever happened. What matters now is that I’m here, I’m alright, and I’m not going to leave you again like I did before.” Albedo’s gaze bore into hers, and she jumped with another giggle.
“Promise?” Klee held out her pinkie finger.
“I promise” He agreed truthfully, holding her finger in his.

The claws of Durin’s corruption are finally taking ahold of Albedo, and he is left with no other choice but to resort to desperate measures in order to slow it’s progression over his mind and body. His experiment’s results don’t go as he planned, causing him to wind up missing for over half a year, and when he is found he is almost unrecognisable.
