He could have his Egg Boiz re-calibrate his cannons, of course – could fire a shot right into the centre of that cluster of nightclubs and sex shops. There was probably something flammable enough in there – it would make something of an impact.

    His cheek sagged on his other hand, knuckles folded to his palm as his lids fell in a slow blink. Nothing had been happening, these past few weeks. Which was fine! He'd spent his time fine-tuning his latest laser cutter, making sure it was powerful enough to break through even the densest of bones – but he couldn't ignore the fact that it felt like something was missing.
