Summary
Harry and Ron have been gone for two years (give or take) for an Auror mission. They're returning home, but Hermione's not sure how they'll adapt to this new, independent version of her. Harry's been able to write to her to read while he's been away, though now he's being cryptic and odd about their journal.

Harry grinned, “Our journal, huh? How long’s it been that?”“Since you walked out of the door with it, Harry, don’t be daft,” she countered. “And I went through nearly every inch of that journal trying to figure out what you were suggesting by stating that I hadn’t read all of it.”
“Because you haven’t,” he said with a simple shrug. “You’d know what I was talking about if you had.”
“Harry,” she whined, gripping him suddenly and towing him to a halt. “It’s driving me insane. I locked old ladies in my shop this morning. I accosted George. I had to nap before coming out tonight like a geriatric.”

Background 411:
(As we all know) Hermione Granger and Harry Potter have been friends since their first year at Hogwarts. Oh, and Ron Weasley, he was also there. The Golden Trio, they called them. The Prophet had always speculated about hidden romantic feelings among the three. And yes, Hermione did date Ron for a hot sec after the defeat of Voldemort. Everyone had been in such high spirits and it just seemed to make sense to couple up. Harry dated Ginny. Hermione dated Ron. Neither of those relationships lasted a year.
Now they were all single again. Well, actually, not all. Ron started dating Lavender Brown soon after his breakup with Hermione. And Ginny had her on-again off-again very-hot situationship with Blaise Zabini.
But Hermione and Harry were single. Painfully… single.
And also, they were the BEST of friends. JUST friends. Of course, that’s all they were.

Summary
Draco Malfoy had a simple life plan: be elegant, superior and appropriately unbearable as the Slytherin Prince of Hogwarts.
What he didn’t plan for was spending seven entire years of Hogwarts: throwing up from nerves over one particular girl, getting punched in the face by said girl and slowly realizing, with mounting horror, that he was hopelessly in love with her.
Now, in his (absolutely unauthorized) “memoir,” Draco recounts his version of events. From the first “I definitely hate her” to the inevitable “Oh no, I think I love her”, with all the arrogance, denial and internal meltdowns only a Malfoy can achieve.
A short fic retelling the Hogwarts years through the eyes of a Draco who is far too in love to admit it and far too pathetic to hide it.
