Robby had to lock his body to stop from going to him. The younger man's eyes were glazed and puffy. Tear tracks on his cheeks glinted off the light and darkened his hoodie in little splotches below his chin.
"But let's be honest about what this is," they followed his venomous tone as he walked towards the hallway.
"I'm not built to…to be some…weekend kink fulfillment," he leaned against the wall and breathed through the effort of having to get his shoes on."
or Dennis gets a phone call that breaks him, so he blows up their relationship.

Jack takes one step into the kitchen, hands on his hip as he continues to blink in disbelief. “Why?”
“I wanted to do something nice.” Dennis replies, meagre. “Start the day well. For you and Robby.”
“Well, that went well.” Jack scoffs, not even looking at Dennis.
Dennis curls into himself even more. “I’m sorry.”
“Whatever, just leave it to us next time kid.”-
Or sleep deprived Jack tells Dennis off, Robby doesn't help, but they get their shit together eventually

Summary
Night shift is always hard on Dennis. Working with Abbot is even harder. It's like working with a fucking psychic— somehow, Abbot always looks as if he can see right through him. If he thought Robby was bad, Abbot is ten times worse. Because he pushes. Where Robby pulls back, Abbot takes his place with a fucking battering ram.
It would almost be impressive how perceptive Abbot is if he weren’t so focused on using that ability to strip Dennis right down to the bone, then break those in half like the marrow holds words that Dennis might be hiding.

Dennis has epilepsy and not enough medication. Rationing pills can't be that bad for you, right? Jack and Robby will understand. ...Right?
