    Daniel groaned, disgruntled with the possibility of having to kill the witness, before a voice sounded in his mind.

    'You’re a vampire.'

    He shook his head to rid himself of the dizzying feeling. Shit- was this guy-
    He hadn’t met any other vamps yet. Wondering how many there even were in New York.

    'Yeah. What’s it to you?' He spoke aloud. Unable to replicate the telepathic communication.

    'You’re a fledgling still, right?' The other man took a few steps closer, cautious not to intimidate Daniel. That irritated him. He was about to snipe back, unwilling to be treated like some vampire baby, when he noticed the man’s appearance. His stomach turning with recognition.

    For a millisecond he feared he’d come back."
