In which Childe is a homunculus created by Albedo’s master and sent by Klee’s mother, but was forced into a unique state. Albedo didn’t expect to become so attached nor did he expect to become a brother to someone other than Klee.
Perhaps, Albedo wondered, there is something more to life waiting for him...

Summary
Although in his defense, there was no universe where he’d ever consider the possibility that going for a walk would end in him running into a plant that can somehow change his features.
Or, Venti tries to pull a prank on an old friend and doesn't think that maybe other citizens might pass by the area, and accidentally makes calling Childe fox a bit more literal.

Summary
Tartaglia stares longingly, his window remaining open as he took in the fresh air. It’s moments like these where he can experience freedom. In reality, he knows he never will. His Tsaritsa simply doesn’t need him at the moment. She hasn’t in a long while. But he can dream from within a comfortable abode in Liyue, away from the rest of the world. For now, he can be “Tartaglia” while “Childe” can be locked away.
… And then, a man from Liyue, with eyes more brilliant than Cor Lapis, comes knocking upon his door. Metaphorically and literally.

In which Childe was personally raised by the Tsaritsa as a living weapon. He spends his time living a domestic life in Liyue’s mountains on a years-long standby. And that is fine. He’s a monster anyway. People are meant to run far away from him.
( Chapter 3 and beyond are written after the 1.1 update. I have fully seen the rest of Liyue's story and the Childe story quest! )

Summary
Zhongli’s eyes widened, instinctively stepping out of the way as something darted past him. The odd entity carried the scent of rainfall, its body lightly glowing like an illuminated sea. The streets of Liyue Harbor were filled with panicked cries.
No one could gain a better view as the thing leaped into the water, vanishing upon impact. Zhongli approached, peering down upon the water’s surface. There wasn’t even a trace of that creature being there in the first place.
“... What was that?”

In which Childe isn’t completely human, is nearly 200 years old, could probably become an archon if he wanted, is a “part-time” Harbinger, and eventually ends up moving in with Zhongli.
Meanwhile, Zhongli has never seen a being quite like Childe in all of his years of living. Childe is left wondering why the Geo Archon looks at him like he’s the most interesting thing in the world.

It was merely the top half of the Gnosis — which should’ve been whole in the first place. Instead, it was split in two with the location of the second half unknown. Not even the Tsaritsa had warned the Harbingers of such a possibility.
“This was not part of the contract.”
“I said I would give you my Gnosis and I have.”
She glared at Zhongli. “Where’s the other half?”
Zhongli remained silent.

In which the Geo Archon isn’t just one divine entity, but two. Zhongli and Childe wander the streets of Liyue Harbor all while sharing a split Gnosis and working on their shared Archon duties together.

Summary
Childe had always assumed that he would die young. He had accepted that a long time ago, ever since he accepted the mantle of a Fatui Harbinger. However, he always thought that he would die in a glorious fight, his body broken but spirit relishing the strong opponent that had bested him. He was okay with that type of death.
Unfortunately, it seemed like Fate had decided to add one last insult to injury, because, here Childe was, dying because he had fallen in love with the ex-Geo Archon. The same Archon who seemed to have discarded him like an old toy ever since the Osial Incident.

Everything's done and over. Now, Zhongli only needs to adjust to living like an ordinary mortal. Or that is what he thinks until a familiar face shows up in Liyue. Teucer comes looking for his brother who failed to return to Snezhnaya on the Fatui ships. And as Childe's declared "friend", Zhongli must help Teucer find him.
Or: Teucer drags Zhongli on a cross-country goose chase looking for Childe. Zhongli just happens to find a bit more along the way.
