Summary
“Would you rather a baby be hit by a car?” Buck barrels on, tucking Nightcrawler against his chest and staring Eddie down, blinking rapidly to force tears into his eyes. “Just so you wouldn’t have to see her unseemly lack of a fourth leg?”
“Buck,” Eddie says incredulously.
Time for the finale. “Should I leave, too, Eddie? Since you clearly are so disgusted by amputees, I wouldn’t want to make you live with such filth.”
Eddie runs a hand down his face, and Buck knows he’s got him. He feels bad. Almost. But then again, Eddie sort of forces Buck to trick him. If Eddie would have let him get a cat, Buck wouldn’t have had to spend weeks manipulating him. “Oh my god, you’re evil.”
“I’m evil? Me, the amputee, with my amputee cat, getting kicked out of my— of our own home, I’m the evil one.”
or, amputee Buck brings home a cat with three legs

Summary
“And before we begin,” she said, eyes glued to the screen. “Will your husband be joining us today?”
Eddie’s brain short circuited. Husband?
“Uh,” he managed to get out. “My what?”
She turned to him. “Your husband?” She looked back at the screen. “An Evan Buckley? According to Chris’ records, he’s been at his last three conferences.”
Eddie took another minute to ponder, pursing his lips into a thin line....
When Eddie learns that people keep mistaking Buck for his husband, he starts just going along with it.

Summary
Buck wonders, suddenly, if Eddie’s on any dating apps. Or — God forbid — Grindr.
He looks up when Eddie makes a small noise. His gaze finds Eddie’s mouth first, pink and right there, before he very stubbornly reorients to Eddie’s eyes. His eyes that, suddenly, bear a heat Buck’s grown used to over the past couple of months.
“Wanna?” Eddie murmurs, tapping Buck’s hip. “After dinner?”
Heat pools in Buck’s gut, and he nods, a little dazed. “S-sure. Yeah, sure.”
Or: Buck and Eddie fuck sometimes. As friends. With a self-imposed no-talking-during-sex rule. This is fine with Buck. He’s really chill about it.

Summary
Buck hated Eddie Diaz.
Actually—scratch that— he loathed Eddie Diaz.
The man had been nothing short of insufferable since he met him. Every morning, Buck got up and dreaded seeing the man. He made Buck despise every minute he was in his presence.
It wasn't just his smug smirk or that slight Texan drawl that grated on Buck's very nerves—it was everything.
He waltzed into Buck's life on September 21st last year, hired as a new writer at the magazine where he worked. From day one, Diaz had been a know-it-all, constantly correcting Buck on every minor thing: You need a comma there. Write more. Write less. You spelled that wrong.
To say it drove Buck crazy was an understatement.
or the one where Buck and Eddie work together and don't get along but they wake up after having a free night of drinking to…wedding rings, a marriage certificate, and a handful of regret.
