The first time Yue Qi went into the Eastern Forest, he had been, to put it mildly, a bit amused by the entire affair. He knew the rumors about the forest - how it contained a great number of resources for cultivation and medicine but had unseen dangers lurking in its depths. Countless townsfolk had warned him that the forest was dangerous, that there was some great Lord who lurked there who preyed on lost travelers. Or that perhaps the forest was haunted by some great resentful ghost. Or maybe the trees, or the rivers, or the…and on and on and on. The entire situation was, at least for someone like Yue Qi, quite ridiculous.
