Summary
Alina Starkov, an art therapist by day and a passionate painter by night, finds herself inexplicably drawn to the intense, enigmatic man in the office across the street.
As their silent connection grows through fleeting glances and small gestures, Alina discovers a side of him that is both endearing and deeply human. Amidst the vibrant colors of her paintings and the quiet moments they share, separated by glass and opposite sides of the street, a bond begins to form, leaving her breathless with anticipation for what might come next.
Soon, it turns out, she isn't the only one breathless... -

Summary
At five-thirty on a Tuesday morning, when the world is still blue-grey and half-asleep and cinnamon and burnt coffee mingle in the air, a police officer walks into the Little Palace.
Just a black coffee. No smile. No small talk. But he keeps coming back, and slowly—so slowly—the silence between them begins to speak.
Through stolen glances and careful conversations, through moments of vulnerability and quiet trust, something precious grows. This is not just a love story. It's a testament to the strength found in vulnerability, the courage it takes to hope, and the profound beauty of simply being present for someone when they need it most. It's about black coffee at dawn, mismatched socks, and the way a single smile can anchor a drowning person.

"I'm not going to kill you, Mal. I don't need to. Time will do it for me"
“All right."
She did little to hide her shock. “What?”
“You can go, Alina.” She narrowed her eyes and opened her mouth but he cut her off before she could spew whatever distrustful comments she had planned. “You and the tracker can go and live out your merry little lives. Have your 50 years, maybe even 70 if you’re lucky, and when your fantasy crumbles around you, you will see that only you and I remain. You will return to my waiting arms.”
OR: The Darkling decides that letting Alina and Mal go is a better plan in the long run. He's gonna die anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Summary
He sang for her sadness. Sang for his own fear. Sang for the pain she was feeling. Sang for the pain he had caused. The pain she had caused. He sang for the joy he felt at having her in his arms. Sang for the ache that it was only like a dream. Sang for the dream they were sharing.
He let his voice carry his feeling, his hopes, his desires.
He sang from his heart.
And soon she quieted, listening to his beautiful voice. And when the last note faded from the air, when the last tear fell, she pulled gently away and reached up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek. His eyes closed at the tenderness. So unexpected. So cherished.
He gazed down at her, his eyes searching hers.
“Will you sing to me next time?”
Swallowing, he nodded slowly. “I will sing to you next time, my Alina.”
She smiled. Another beautiful, heart-wrenching smile.
He held her hand fast as her projection began to fade.
“Til next dream, my Aleksander.”
And then she was gone and he was alone in the forest, wondering when he would wake up.
Wondering if he really had to.***
Alina's older, wiser, lost in her loneliness, regretful, broken.
But she can still dream.
