Local fire idiot falls in love with sad lactose-intolerant man in the frozen foods aisle at 3AM, marries him in Vegas eight months later, and then has to join a superhero rehabilitation program just so he can legally serve as his husband's caseworker when the aforementioned sad lactose-intolerant man inevitably gets caught committing performative felonies while completely powerless and barefoot on a rainy rooftop. SDN HR representative M. Kowalski did not sign up for this, but frankly, the paperwork is already filed and she's too tired to argue (featuring: forty-seven stolen porcelain dolls, one very judgmental dog, an Elvis impersonator who cried during the vows, and the worst meet-cute in supervillain history).

Robert has always known he was different - that there was something fundamentally wrong with him. He often felt like there was too much of him stuffed into the confines of his meat and bones - like some weird fleshy prison. Maybe that's why his father never loved him. Maybe that's why Uncle Elliot went mad. Maybe that's why he became addicted to the taste of a certain pyrokinetic villain. Maybe that's why, after the explosion, he stopped trying to pretend to be human - he's not.

Summary
AU where Robert has powers his dad forced him to suppress in his youth. Upon stepping into the role of Mecha Man Blue, Robert runs himself into the ground physically, mentally, and financially to uphold his family’s legacy. It’s what he was born and raised for, after all. He can’t afford to fuck it up. He’s nothing outside of it. His dad was so keen on drilling that into his head.
…with that kind of pressure on him, is it any wonder he starts to act out? It really shouldn’t be surprising that he needs to let off some steam, some charge, so he doesn’t lose his cool doing real hero work. Call him a hypocrite. Call him a supervillain in a hero’s suit. Robert’s long since past the point of caring.
It’s just a shame he’s working so closely with people who know the hallmarks of a real villain a lot better than he would like them to. He’ll have to keep his work and his fun separate, for the team’s sake if nothing else. They mean a lot to him. He genuinely wants to help them succeed in their redemption arcs.
But he has no intention of stopping. Not when he’s finally back in his prime.
Not for anyone.

“Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”
"I’m sorry. What?”
Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.
