Maybe they would wake up back in their beds in Grace Field Orphanage, all thoughts of Oni and harvests forgotten. Or maybe they would wake up as a monster planted a white flower on their chest right above their heart, waiting for it to bloom, bloom as red as spider lilies surrounding a cemetery like an omen of death.

His luck really went downhill from there.

Twenty-three days after Anakin Skywalker is declared dead, Obi-Wan Kenobi wakes up from his coma to a world where everything has changed. Oh, there's still a war. There's still his men who need him, there's still the Jedi Order, there's still missions and the Code and politicians and obligations.
But there's no meaning. There's no purpose. Anakin Skywalker has been dead for twenty-three days, and even the Chosen One cannot conquer death.
