    Mike thinks it all started the day the Byers moved into their house.

    Having sold their house in Hawkins a year and a half prior and moved to California, when they came back, and the town got put in lockdown, they didn’t have a place to go.

    Mike had kindly offered up their place during dinner.

    The 18-month gap between s4 and s5 told from Mike's POV with minor other POV's as the story progresses. The gap has been lengthened to encapsulate more time passing. They start at 16, but by chapter 6 they're 17 1/2 with them turning 18 chapter 32/34.

    And we stop before chapter 45 cause I wanna read that and then go into the season 5 rewrite!

    I finished 328k words in 3 days. I don’t think I’ve read that much that fast since middle school and I am an adult with a full-time job.

    I‘ve been waiting for this fic to be completed since January and oh man it didn’t disappoint!!! I love the way you explored Mike’s character and his journey to accepting (well still kinda sorta accepting) himself. Being raised around homophobic people does a lot of damage to the psyche, and I’m glad Will is so patient with him. Also, THANK YOU FOR FLIRTY WILL HOLY FUCK YES! I rarely find fics where he takes the lead in the facilitation of their relationship and him trying and help Mike accept himself by icing him out sent me into the stratosphere! We love grumpy Mike in this household, AND HIGH MIKE MIGHT I ADD. THE COMMENT ABOUT IF WILL HAD MOLES ON HIS DICK MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD I CRIED. And Lucas just witnessing them be stupid about each other—actually Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, and Robin are included in this—is something I didn’t know I needed.

    I know how frustrating it can be to deal with the idiots on Twitter that always have a negative opinion about everything, but I’m proud of you for writing this. 328k words in 5 months is so impressive and that’s not including any scenes you cut or rewrote. Seriously, you’re amazing.

    I shall wait in the wings until the season 5 rewrite is completed but do not fear, I shall be back. You’re a great writer and I cannot wait until part 2 is complete <3

    Mike can’t sleep, write, or do much of anything, really.

    Mike didn’t show up to the airport last summer, and Will didn’t come back to Indiana - until he found himself on the Wheelers’ doorstep at Christmas.

    In which Mike and Will haven’t spoken in over a year, and neither of them quite know how they ended up on a road trip back to California as roommates.

    Or, with a little bravery, some interference from friends old and new, and a whole lot of butter, Mike and Will might actually stand a chance of being honest with each other and getting what they want.

    HRGAKDGSKDGSKDGSKDHSDHSKSHSK. that’s all i got. hoahhhhh this fic!!!! cried, died, and lived for this fic. loved the way you wrote LA and how you developed both of their careers. i love the idea of singer/songwriter mike. also, butter was adorable and i don’t know what i’m picturing with her but its kinda corgi-esque. that’s probably very wrong but regardless i love her. well written, no typos, consistent pacing and well-balanced povs. well freakin done, and there will be a re-read in store for this one

    Will Byers loves Mike Wheeler.

    It shouldn’t be a big deal. Of course he loves Mike. He always has. But it’s never felt like this. It’s never hurt to think about it, but it also never felt like a revelation rather than a fact. It hurts, and there’s nothing he can do to ease the pain. He looks across the room at Mike and all he sees is beauty where minutes ago he only saw his best friend. He notices entire constellations in the freckles strewn across his nose, stars glittering in his eyes, and it all seems inevitable. He loves Mike. He loves him and it’s a foregone conclusion, a wish on a shooting star destined to burn out. He loves him and he can’t ever have him, not in that way, and there’s nothing in the world that can ever hurt him again quite like this.

    OR: When the party dares Mike to tell someone he loves them for one hundred days, Will doesn't expect to be the unlucky recipient. He definitely doesn't expect it to consume his last three months in Hawkins. But like most things in his life, absolutely nothing goes to plan.
